Final Project: The Elizabethtown STEM Building of Excellence
A view of the front of the stem building showing off some of the new shrubs and trees that will be added to the surrounding of the building. There are two bike racks at the front of the building as it is a little far away from the dorms and high school. A garage has been added to the fabrication lab so students could work on large objects like cars.
Abstract of Project: The Elizabethtown College science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) departments have been growing at an exponential rate for years. Disciplines like these are in very high demand in the professional world, which has led to more and more young students to choose this path in life. Creating a STEM building for Elizabethtown college could provide a great boost for enrollment in these growing departments. The location of the proposed building being in the green space between the college and the Elizabethtown school district. With it being so close to the high school, both schools can use it and create a massive pipeline for Elizabethtown college. This could lead to more students from Elizabethtown high school staying close to home and going to college and would be a staple for enrollment for future students. I believe this type of building could put Etown STEM departments on the map for larger companies.
This shows the back entrance of the STEM building. There are many windows on both sides of the building to produce a lot of natural light. The addition of all the windows is to increase the thermal comfort of the building. This would be used by people of all ages so it should give a sense of warmth to anyone who enters, natural light will help increase that feeling.
This is the first-floor floorplan. As you can see, there is a fabrication lab and an auditorium. The main entrance faces the parking lots and faces to the west. When you walk in, you come into the Ean Mann lobby that has comfortable chairs, an electric fireplace, and a plasma tv. To the right of the entrance, you have the Henry kitchen area where the schools can sell smoothies, snacks, and other products. This would be helpful due to the location of the building and it’s the distance to the food places on campus. To the left of the main entrance, you have the Fisher classroom. This classroom would be used for more group/team-based classes.
Creation of a home in Revit

The task was to build a basic house with the skills that we know from Revit. This was the house I created, it has four bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house

Shown here is a view of the backyard of the house and the natural ambiance created.
